In terms of plot structure and story, the film is horribly conventional. Still, the poetry is ace, and that makes up for the films other shortcomings.
It was better than we expected. The movie itself was pretty predictable but a fun watch. I enjoyed the storyline and the actors. The subject really interested me and I've never seen a movie explore rap and poetry this way. I always get a bit confused when I see Hana Mae Lee talk in a movie, to be honest. All I see is her Pitch Perfect character. She is a great actress though! I enjoyed the movie and it's an easy watch. If the subject interests you I would for sure recommend it :-)
