Director Rumley brings his horror movie credentials to this chronicle of the last days of Donald Crowhurst. The second film within a year to bring this story to the screen - Colin Firth starred in the more conventional The Mercy - this is a more psychological and nightmarish representation of the guilt and loneliness faced by the now infamous sailor. Both films have their merits, but cinematically speaking, this, I think, has the edge over the respectable competition.
