This is probably still the best movie adaptation of the classic Jack London novel. (To my mind, only the 6 hour long 1971 German made TV mini-series is better.) They managed pretty well to squeeze the essence of the complex story into 1h 40m. They for sure have some of the classic Hollywood movie polish of the time in it, but all in all the move works and reflects the essence of London’s work.
