Highly unique and fascinating movie, after the book Mine-Haha, or On the Bodily Education of Young Girls by Frank Wedekind. It's a coming of age film, with an original setting, which adds an element of mystery. The beautiful cinematography helps in creating a surreal atmosphere. The element of water is all too present in the movie and has different meanings, often opposite from each other. The water seems to be a favorite theme of French director Lucile Hadzihalilovic, which is also fundamental in her 2015 movie, Evolution.
