[MUBI] In the documentary "Before the dying of the light" (Ali Essafi, 2020) this film was taken as a reference to the emergence of Moroccan culture cut off by extremism. An example of a narrative whose line between fiction and documentary is blurred, it explores the filming process, the search for "truth in cinema." It is a magnificent reflection on the goal of making films, a vibrant vision of Casablanca in the seventies, a necessary commitment to the effervescence of intelligent culture.
