A cop searches for the answer to a mystery. The religious theme is handled really well and it's not typically hollywood for the most part. Aged extremely well. I didn't like the second half as much. The supernatural stuff didn't have the tension and was less horrifying than the realism beforehand.

Wasn't expecting much, but I like Larry Cohen's other stuff and this didn't disappoint. It blended gritty 70s crime/mystery realism into metaphysical horror/sci-fi elements, all in a perfectly paced package. Some may dismiss it as 'cheese', but it remains worth a watch.
