"We've got no excuses." Sweeter and funnier and sadder than I expected. "Stop ruining your Jack with Coke," Manu tells Natalie. This movie is a Jack and Coke—sharp and biting, yes, but also sweet and warm. The unsimulated sex scenes are jarring, of course. But I suppose that's the point. And it got me thinking about how in film, you're always choosing what to show. Real life doesn't work that way. Along with the dv cinematography, this makes it feel oddly intimate. The discman reveal is hilarious.
