Synopsis
Laney is an attractive, intelligent suburban wife and devoted mother of two adorable children. She has the perfect husband who plays basketball with the kids in the driveway, a pristine house, and a shiny SUV for carting the children to their next activity. However, just beneath the façade lie depression and disillusionment that send her careening into a secret world of reckless compulsion. Only very real danger will force her to face the painful root of her destructiveness and its crumbling effect on those she loves.

This is a film about the the struggle with depression and mental illness. Not just the people that suffer with these things but the people that are around them and are thus affected. It's awkward to try to give this a theatrical rating because of the importance of the topic. I thought it did a fantastic job traversing all of the struggles that come with this area. The first half of the film felt kind of hallmarkish but the film really "takes off" (there isn't a great way to say that) in the second half. Sarah Silverman is a revelation, especially as her character is really on the precipice of some real darkness.
