From Hallmark comes the romantic comedy _A Royal Christmas_. After her boyfriend reveals to her that he’s a European prince, Emily agrees to accompany him home for Christmas and meet his family. Starring Lacey Chabert, Stephen Hagan, and Jane Seymour, the cast is pretty good and delivers some strong performances. Also, while the plot follows the typical Hallmark formula, the writing’s rather impressive; subverting a couple of the usual tropes and giving the characters depth. And there are some fun bits of humor as well as some touching dramatic moments. Better than the usual Hallmark fare, _A Royal Christmas_ is a whimsical holiday film that the whole family can enjoy.
