Barbara and Fred in 1940's first great love affair…!
Unexpected love blossoms when an assistant district attorney agrees to take a recidivist shoplifter home so she doesn't have to spend Christmas alone in jail.

I had no idea this Christmas movie even existed and a friend recommended it. It's a good movie, but I don't think I'll be revisiting it every year. Still, a good film and should be seen.
Christmas movie that we had not seen and we liked, either because of the actors and the screenwriter
Barbara Stanwyck and Fred MacMurray star in the holiday romance _Remember the Night_. The story follows a district attorney who posts bail for a shoplifter that he’s prosecuting so that she can enjoy the holidays while the court’s in recess, and ends up inviting her to join his family for Christmas when he discovers that she has nowhere to go. Stanwyck gives an incredible performance and steals every scene. However, the plot is pretty formulaic, with the usual tropes: a criminal with a heart of gold, quirky relatives, etc. Also, the ending is rather ambiguous, leaving several plot points unresolved. _Remember the Night_ has its moments and a bit of Christmas Spirit, but overall is a mediocre film.
