I expected a light romantic movie. That tonal shift in the second half was jarring. Loved it, though.

Can't think of a movie with two more beautiful leads. When Clift and Taylor meet, flirt, and dance, it feels as though the celluloid will just combust with intensity. The moment when Taylor begins to say "I love you" and looks at the camera? THRILLING. The movie's pace is just a little slow, though, and it flags at the end with a tacked-on courtroom scene which I'm never a fan of. But it doesn't take too much away from an overall beautiful, exciting, tense Hollywood picture.

What an overrated movie and Montgomery Clifts performance was nothing like they try to describe it. Predictable and disappointing.
