Incredibly talented cast including: Steve Martin, Madeline Kahn, Robert Klein, Anthony LaPaglia, Juliette Lewis, Adam Sandler, Rob Reiner, Liev Schreiber (in his first film role), Rita Wilson, Garry Shandling, Jon Stewart, Parker Posey....etc. Script and direction by Nora Ephron as her follow up to "Sleepless in Seattle." During the credits, I was giddy with excitement for what such a talented group could put together. Well, it is like what is in the toilet after you have some Mixed Nuts and we'll just leave it at that. If you watch this, don't forget to flush. Twice. 2/10

I don't know why so many people didn't like this, except for the fact that might have been expecting a more straightforward comedy. This was definitely not that. This was a kooky, off-the-wall comedic experiment, and I thought that it accomplished this really well, especially with the tremendously talented cast.

From Nora Ephron comes the kooky Christmas comedy _Mixed Nuts_. Starring Steve Martin, Rita Wilson, Juliette Lewis, and Adam Sandler, the film has a great cast. But the characters aren’t that interesting; their just eccentric weirdos that’re all doing their own separate things, and they don’t really work well together. And, the story too is all over the place, with things just happening randomly without any lead up. Festively chaotic, _Mixed Nuts_ delivers a few laughs but is too uneven and lacks focus.

I didn't have high expectations (although I was expecting something from the writer of When Harry Met Sally...) but I knew it wouldn't be for me when I saw it was based on "Le Père Noël Est une Ordure", which I saw 2 years ago and wasn't the biggest fan of. Because of that, I remembered some scenes too well, especially the annoyingly loud woman that's stuck in the elevator. There are so many moments where I turned down the volume because of annoying music or people rambling way too loud. Liev Schreiber was fun, that's about it. The movie was dull, the original has that odd French humour and remaking it doesn't work without making it its own thing. Definitely felt longer than 1h37m.

This is just terrible, not worth your time. Too bad it has a decent cast.
