Making waves in our world.
Evil pirate Burger Beard is in search of the final page of a magical book that makes any evil plan he writes in it come true, but the final page happens to be the Krabby Patty secret formula. When Burger Beard endangers Bikini Bottom, SpongeBob, Patrick, Mr. Krabs, Squidward, Sandy, and Plankton must embark on a quest to retrieve the recipe and save their city...a quest that takes them to the surface world and transforms them into superheroes.

Considering all the advertisement shown them out of the water, you would of thought they would of been out of the water for the majority of the movie and not just for 20 minutes. The thing that bugs me the most about this though is how the animation changes when they get out of the water. They were out of the water in the first movie but the animation didn't change. Lazy attempt at making another movie, but im sure kids will get some enjoyment out of it.
Just like I expected it to be.Great! I didn't know there was CGI.
This one feels like a bizarre experiment, like they had a cool high-concept pitch (“what if they go 3D and become superheroes?”) and just ran with it, whether or not it worked. It’s visually striking but hollow. The charm of the original series is mostly lost in the chaos of spectacle and bland storytelling. It’s more noise than narrative, and while the idea had potential, it doesn’t stick the landing. Ultimately feels like a soulless product.
> "Alright, all secondary characters, come with me." If you are a die hard Spongebob fan, this movie might be for you. I am a fan, but not a die hard one, and struggled to get through it. It feels like an extended episode with a few cool new live action scenes but could've used more of the live action stuff.
Got a spark of the old Hillenburg seasons, but the third act is pretty typical schlock and it’s not as tight and joke a minute as the original.
