The Story of a Father’s Love That Changed a Nation.
Desmond Doyle is devastated when his wife abandons their family on the day after Christmas. His unemployment, and the fact that there is no woman in the house to care for the children—Evelyn, Dermot and Maurice—make it clear to the authorities this is an untenable situation. The Catholic Church and the Irish courts decide to put the Doyle children into Church-run orphanages.

Based on a true story and a very emotional film. When unemployed Desmond Doyle’s wife leaves him and his 3 kids he is faced with with the challenge of trying to get his kids back as they have been with the nuns of the Catholic Church. This story is about his efforts to find work, stop drinking and find representation that takes his case to the Supreme Court. A heartwarming story with some laughs and a lot of heart. A great watch.
sad this happened, but glad the law was amended. not surprised the nun lied, wouldn't expect anything different from that hypocrite, hope she amended her ways also before abusing other kids. good outcome, lovely emotional film
