The film Tajemnica Westerplatte fails to do justice to its highly significant historical subject matter, which deserved a far more profound and thoroughly developed exploration. The impact of this crucial World War II event is severely undermined by weak, unconvincing acting that fails to convey the gravity of the situation. Furthermore, considering its 2013 release year, the production quality is remarkably underwhelming; the film could and should have utilized much better locations and set designs to create an authentic, immersive historical atmosphere.
Perhaps a tad weak on characterization but not a bad movie about the opening shots of WW2.
Very good little-known Polish movie about the first battle of WWII. Highly recommended!
