Nothing here I got too excited about, apart from some apparently daring stunts and some nice location photography. It felt sort of generic, in a 50s kind of way, and I don't tend to love Westerns from the era.
another great western with the duo James Stewart and Anthony Mann
I loved the color, the mountain scenery and the old man prospector, the only good character. The main issue with everything is a uniform generic-ness lying over every acting performance, gunfight, story beat, twist, etc., leaving it all feeling 'safe' and 'wasted' by the end.
It's a retelling of Treasure of the Sierra Madre in Technicolor, basically.
Watched for free on Fawesome. I don’t understand the ending. Something one of the characters do that doesn’t make much sense, although probably they feel guilty or not morally ethical. Another representation of how the American mindset was founded, full of greedy cowboys that only cared about themselves; narcissistic fucks who only connect to other people temporarily for their own advantage and then discard them when they have no use anymore. Cowboy mindset is what caused the mess we see in America. But at least they had some code, like not killing someone if they don’t draw the gun.
