Getting trapped in a movie... is no day at the beach.
Life's a beach for surfers Brady and McKenzie – until a rogue wave magically transports them inside the classic '60s beach party flick, "Wet Side Story," where a full-blown rivalry between bikers and surfers threatens to erupt. There, amidst a sea of surfing, singing and dancing, Brady and Mack accidentally change the storyline, and the film’s dreamy hero and heroine fall for them instead of for each other!

❤x7 OK - so I never had any intention of ever watching this movie. But today, it came on and it was on more or less in the background and I found that I kept glancing over at the movie more and more. I found that it is actually quite a fun little movie. A very comfortable throwback to the old Disney Beach movies from the 60's. This is just a fun little nostalgia romp. How I rate: 1-3 ❤ = seriously! don't waste your time 4-6 ❤ = you may or may not enjoy this 7-8 ❤ = I expect you will like this too 9-10 ❤ = movies and TV shows I really love!
Old fashioned Disney fun, definitely one of the best ones in a while.
If you haven't noticed from my other reviews, I'm a longtime Disney Channel fan. I grew up watching the network in elementary school, especially when they used to show _Growing Pains_ on there; later on, I was known for being a big fan of _Lizzie McGuire_ and _Raven_ throughout high school. So, you'd probably think I'd enjoy this...and, to a degree, I did. I'm not a big fan of anything involving large bodies of water, so, anything with a word like "beach," "swim," or "pool" (unless it refers to billiards) in the title makes me hesitant to check it out. Still, I liked Ross Lynch in _Austin & Ally_, and Maia Mitchell seemed like an attractive and talented leading lady, so, I figured, why not? While it was mostly fun, especially the musical numbers, there was a bit too much exposed skin, which isn't what I'm used to from a DCOM, even one that takes place on a beach. Will I check out the sequel? We'll see.
I’m someone who really enjoys a good kid or teen movie, but this one was just too childish. It wasn’t fun or cute; it was ridiculous and cringy. I couldn’t get into it at all. It also didn’t help that I didn’t find the characters particularly likeable and that the relationships gave me nothing either. I mean, Brady and Mack were not a good fit and Brady seemed to send more love eyes Lela’s way than he ever did Mack. The only relationship I remotely liked was the friendship between Lela and Mack; Lela was such a sweetheart and I liked that Mack made her realise she could be more. In any case, I was mostly just bored and frustrated during this movie. I wanted it to be over. Some songs were pretty catchy, though.
Song was really catchy and funny
