In just one night, he has seen his past, his present, and his future... and they've all come back to haunt him.
Miser Ebenezer Scrooge is awakened on Christmas Eve by spirits who reveal to him his own miserable existence, what opportunities he wasted in his youth, his current cruelties, and the dire fate that awaits him if he does not change his ways. Scrooge is faced with his own story of growing bitterness and meanness, and must decide what his own future will hold: death or redemption.

Of all the serious versions of A Christmas Caroll this will always be my favorite one.
Probably my favorite part in this movie is when Scrooge awakens, and begins to laugh - but he hasn't laughed in so long that the muscles don't quite work right, so it takes him a while to get out a proper laugh. Well, that and the film remembers to include both Ignorance and Want.
Not really my favorite version. Patrick Stewart playing bald Scrooge. Is like Captain Picard is in the story of A Christmas Carol in the hologram Enterprise program. It just needed Data as Bob Cratchit.
My favourite serious version of the story. Patrick Stewart is a brilliant Scrooge and the rest of the actors are perfectly cast.
