I love these epic historic narratives. There is nothing like a cast of thousands to truly feel the intensity of warfare. CG just doesn't do it. I would recommend watching it as a two-part series separated by the intermission so it doesn't burn you out. Most people are completely unaware of the 700 years of conflict between Christians and Muslims in Spain, so this movie can be surprising.

The first two hours for me were a bit of a slag. The final hour, however, was fantastic. True epics with scenes just painted with people throughout the frame. Get past the first two hours and you will find some great story there near the end.

Years without seeing it, it is still very good, scenarios, direction. You can see the budget, also at that time everything that came out was really there
