Someday in the past he will find her...
Young writer Richard Collier is met on the opening night of his first play by an old lady who begs him to "Come back to me". Mystified, he tries to find out about her, and learns that she is a famous stage actress from the early twentieth century. Becoming more and more obsessed with her, by self-hypnosis he manages to travel back in time—where he meets her.

When this came out I was just turning 25 and I thought this was the greatest love story. I'm sure I watched and rewatched it after it came out in VHS (that's how we watched things before DVDs or streaming) probably renting it repeatedly from Blockbuster. I just ran across it tonight, decided to revisit it and now I'm left shaking my head. This is not the great movie I remember. It has not changed but I must have. Now I find it very slow, with rather a lame approach to time travel and full of logistical holes. But, Christopher Reeves and Jane Seymour are still beautiful together. Christopher Plummer is regal. The location is gorgeous. The approach to cinematography is sweeping, idealistic and seeking to frame beauty. The music is transcendent. For nostalgia's sake I have to give this film an 8 (worthy of many watches) out of 10, to honour the 25 year old me, but the older, more seasoned media consumer has to admit it is probably a 4 (poor) to 6 (fair) by today's standards. Sadly, I will probably never revisit this film again. Hopefully, I haven't outgrown romance. [Fantasy, SciFi, Romantic Drama]
Great flick if depression is your thing
This is my first time seeing this film. It was incredible. Reeve and Seymour were great together!
Um filme bem antigo, interessante por curiosidade, mas nada de muito diferente.
