[IFFR '26] Drawing on references to the Nouvelle Vague and the spirit of the 1968 ideals, this beautiful autumnal love story uses illness not for its cognitive effects, but as a catalyst that liberates the characters in a kind of return to youthful vitality. This doesn't mean it doesn't address some of the problems that arise with Alzheimer's, especially when memory deteriorates irreversibly and the dream of an ideal life also fades. But it is nonetheless imbued with a moving sensitivity, particularly regarding how Hanne's character grapples with her own choices.
