Synopsis
In the late 1970s, Cockney crime boss Harold Shand, a gangster trying to become a legitimate property mogul, has big plans to get the American Mafia to bankroll his transformation of a derelict area of London into the possible venue for a future Olympic Games. However, a series of bombings targets his empire on the very weekend the Americans are in town. Shand is convinced there is a traitor in his organization, and sets out to eliminate the rat in typically ruthless fashion.

WOW, can not believe it took me this long to find this little gem. Ultra gritty and realistic look into the U.K. Gangster World. Dame Helen Mirren and Bob Hoskins absolutely crushed it. The final 10-15 minutes were heart-pounding and left you with many emotions. If you are a Gangster aficionado, this is a must-see. 🕴💣🕍

Really good gangster pic. Bob Hoskins is awesome and intense, as a kind of cockney Edward G. Robinson. Helen Mirren isn't your typical first lady of crime, her character has substance and feels genuine. It's odd seeing such a young Pierce Brosnan too.
