[Locarno '25] The directors utilize spaces where masculinity is traditionally represented, conquering the places where lesbian gazes also practice cruising and furtive sex takes place in public restrooms. This occupation of male space sets the tone for a story that reclaims freedom, however imperfect. In this joyfully queer and somewhat chaotic road movie, which ends with La Gata, the oldest lesbian bar in the world since it opened in 1971, the three protagonists reclaim their identities by confronting the secrets and memories of a distant past while addressing the uncertainties of a future that is all too close.
