Synopsis
Brad Whitewood Jr. lives in rural Pennsylvania and has few prospects. Against his mother's wishes, he seeks out his estranged father, the head of a gang of thieves in a nearby town. Though his new girlfriend supports his criminal ambitions, Brad Jr. soon learns that his father is a dangerous man. Inspired by the real events that led to the end of the Johnston Gang, who operated in the northeastern United States in the 1970s.

Terrible story, Idk why it has such high rating maybe cause of young Sean Penn. Waste of time. Stay away!

"At Close Range" is definitely not a feel-good story. The plot, centered on a hardened criminal father (Christopher Walken) and his only slightly criminal son (Sean Penn), really has only one tone—and it’s depressing. Admittedly, the story—based on true events—didn’t do much for me. And director James Foley’s direction isn’t particularly dynamic, nor is the pacing satisfying. What works 100 percent, however, is the acting by the two leads. Penn is fantastic, and Walken effortlessly manages to create a truly despicable character. And for that alone, the film is definitely worth watching.

Caminhos Violentos é arrastado até o clímax do segundo pro terceiro ato. O final compensa, mas o caminho até lá é um verdadeiro parto.
