Django arrives in the town of Santa Anna at the behest of a man named Sanders who'd been trying to buy safe passage for his cargo from a Mexican bandit named El Santo. Django finds that Sanders has been killed and that his rival, a man named Thompson, is now trying to deal with El Santo. Django, after a brief involvement with a beautiful young widow named Linda -- who has information on a lost gold mine -- becomes entangled in this situation by agreeing to escort a shipment through El Santo's territory.

I started this movie 3 times before finally getting hooked into it. In one of the early scenes, the sympathetic local explains to our hero what is going on in the town. But he talks fast, and all the names sounded similar to my ear, so I wasn't sure who was who. Memorable parts: The boy and dog in the first scene, Eastman walking through a few low doorways, Dropping rocks on a trail to fool their enemys, and the piano player, who pounded relentlessly on his piano during a very long series of saloon fights. Unfortunately it was a poor quality video. I found one on YouTube that was a very nice quality wide-screen with brighter colors, but it was in Italian without subtitles.
