My 🐐. Watched this for the first time but it holds up. A guy who by all accounts should’ve never made it in WWE—a sharp-tongued indie darling with a straight-edge moral code and a diminutive physique—and ended up paving the way for guys like Daniel Bryan, Seth Rollins, and Sami Zayn. The ROH footage is grainy, sweaty, and intimate in a way WWE’s current robot-camera style will never be. You watch Punk go from scrappy Chicago nobody to the voice of a jaded wrestling fandom, and it’s impossible not to root for him, even as you’re reminded repeatedly that he’s also kind of a dick (but like, a necessary dick). Obviously, this is WWE-produced, so you get a little too much “look how great we are for giving Punk this opportunity,” but it’s not enough to kill it. As a snapshot of one of wrestling’s most compelling weirdos at the peak of his powers, it absolutely delivers. Need a follow-up covering his exit, the failed but incredibly ballsy UFC stint, the AEW drama and of course his return

during his time he really was "the best in the world." Fun looking back at how he rose to the top in the WWE, still love his pipe-bomb promo, his match with John Cena at Money in the Bank 2011 is still epic, his 3 matches against Samoa Joe in Ring of Honor are still 3 of my favorite clashes and all in all, WWE does know how to produce these documentaries.
