Am I the only one?? This was the best movie I watched. I don't watch many movies but I just know this one is so good. It deserves more attention.
This falls into a frustratingly familiar trap: it's a typical rom-com drama that tries way too hard to be different with its storytelling and quirkiness but ultimately fails to land. In trying to stand out from a crowded genre, the film relies heavily on unconventional narrative framing and eccentric character traits that feel forced rather than charmingly organic. Instead of adding freshness, the self-conscious styling and "indie-pop" eccentricities act as a barrier to actual engagement, leaving the core relationship feeling hollow and frustratingly superficial. When you peel back the layers of quirky dialogue and artsy visual choices, the underlying plot beats are remarkably standard, making the experimental structure feel less like an artistic choice and more like a distraction from a thin script. While the cast gives it a valiant effort, the film's ambition to be unique constantly trips over its own execution.
