At 35, Étienne still hasn't forgiven his 'friend' Jean-Pat, who made his life miserable throughout his childhood. When he learns of Jean-Pat's death, Étienne isn't exactly devastated... Yet, despite himself, he finds himself organising the funeral of his worst enemy. One thing is certain: Jean-Pat isn't done ruining his life yet.

Like an -eral because it's a 'funeral' with no 'fun'. Another French 'comedy' without any jokes (wait, there's one where a woman in her 90s says she's 48 years old), Adieu Jean-Pat is the story of a seemingly neurodivergent man who wants to attend the funeral of his bully to cheat on his wife with his childhood sweetheart (despite having better chemistry with his friend). The lead actor is as flat as the script and as generic as the AI baby they stick in at the end. Also, please explain why a 2025 French movie about your bully's funeral has the Suzi Quatro 70s soft-rock hit "Stumblin' In" as its credits song? This film is yet another funeral I should've skipped out early on.
