A personal story about family loss
Stefan reunites with his family to celebrate his grandmother's birthday for the first time after his mother's recent passing. This homecoming, driven by his urge to complete a film about his mother and an attempt to make amends by rescuing a stray dog, will ignite an introspective journey for Stefan. Inspired by the director's real-life experiences and starring his actual family members in a mission to complete a lake house and a film, this is an intimate cinematic exploration of the timeless mother-son relationship.

[IFFR '25] The virtue of the film is that it is not just an intimate documentary that offers an atmospheric view of nature, but it offers a unique and risky approach that wants to situate itself in a space between fiction. This semi-documentary texture provides an approach that is at the same time close but based on a structure that establishes a connection between the family and the recorded images of the mother. The film succeeds in this approach of a sometimes diffuse structure that breaks with linearity and finds a way to be an intimate family portrait but at the same time connect with the strength of an absent mother who is also deeply present.
