Cusack is committed to the role but sometimes seems to be overdoing it. Maybe that's how he always is, I haven't seen him in many movies. Despite that, I liked the story and just the fact that Rong Jinzhen is portrayed as an ordinary, non-glamourous person but deep down extraordinarily driven and heroic made it watchable. What A Beautiful Mind could have been if it were political.
