Synopsis
Royal Rumble (2001) was the fourteenth annual Royal Rumble PPV. It was presented by MCI's 1-800-COLLECT and took place on January 21, 2001 at the New Orleans Arena in New Orleans, Louisiana. The main event was the Royal Rumble match. Kane set a record for the most eliminations and the match saw Drew Carey enter the Royal Rumble. Featured matches on the undercard included a ladder match between Chris Jericho and Chris Benoit for the WWF Intercontinental Championship and a singles match between Kurt Angle and Triple H for the WWF Championship.

One of the best Rumble matches, one of the best ladder matches ever, everyone is over, Dudleyz getting better, Stone Cold is always awesome, Kane's best match and on the road to one of my favorite manias. But still, Royal Rumble isn't my favorite match type.

The Rumble match is one of the best in company history (I still prefer 1992 by a slight margin due to the Ric Flair storyline and Bobby Heenan’s commentary), so that makes this show worth the watch. When you factor in how good the undercard is, it makes it that much better. Combine all of that together, and it’s the best Royal Rumble card that WWE has ever produced.
