Mel Gibson never disappoints. "I'm the guy with nothing to lose and doesn't give a shit!" Awesome!
While the main story of a deeply currie and criminal corporation is a bit far fetched to be really credible, the human side of the story is well done and well played. That makes it still good entertainment despite the not so credible main storyline.
"You had better decide if you're hanging on the cross, or banging in the nails." Edge of Darkness is a fine little late Mel Gibson thriller. The story is interesting, the action alright, we get a brutal shotgun kill that you don't expect to be this brutal, we have radiation poisoning, we have Danny Huston being the big baddy, we have the mystic Ray Winstone, we have Mel Gibson the old I don't give a crap badass, we have some shootouts and a rushed final 26 minutes. Still Edge of Darkness is decent and enjoyable. It isn't peak Mel Gibson but still one of his better late career outings. If you haven't seen it and you always enjoyed your doses of Mel, it is worth it. Have to watch Get the Gringo again someday though.
