Didn't like it. If you are interested in it for the 2.5 racing scenes that are in the first half of the film, you'd better watch Days of Thunder.
Not much to see here.
Indie film you stumble upon without looking and it surprises you. Dennis Quaid nails the ambitious father who would do anything for his agricultural business, and Zac Efron proved he could do more than teen romantic comedies. The chemistry between them works, even though the father-son relationship is uncomfortable to watch. The pacing is slow. If you're looking for action, run away. If you like layered family dramas, it's worth it.
Not a film about racing (see the comment below), this is about a family striving for something more in their lives. It is also a film about a community trying to survive in the face of recession and the things people do to succeed, even if it means stepping over others. There is a warm heart at its centre and it is impeccably acted. There are some flaws in the story but it succeeded in winning me over.
