In his hilarious new special, Zakir recounts stories of his childhood friendships with boys, adult relationships with girls, and the clashes that ensue between them on one fateful Goa trip. As he explains, there are times when you have to choose between the right thing to do and the fun thing to do. In Mannpasand, Zakir firmly chooses fun.

Mannpasand feels like him consciously shifting gears after Tathastu. Instead of going deep and emotional, he comes back to lighter, more classic “sakht launda” territory with everyday stories about relationships, friends, and life. The first half is more punchline-driven and familiar, while the second half brings a bit more maturity and reflection, though not as heavy as Tathastu. His storytelling is still the biggest strength, he makes simple incidents feel engaging and relatable. It’s funny, easy to watch, but you can feel it’s not his absolute peak. More like comfort Zakir than peak Zakir.
