Henry Roubier, a French promoter, and Enrico Mazzini, an Italian, have signed an agreement guaranteeing them a stranglehold on European highways. While driving on the roads of the south, Roubier takes two young hitchhikers, but an unfortunate swerve the car rushes by Henri and its occupants on the top of a pine tree onto the side of a cliff.

A very nice comedy that is worth watching once a year
I think this is what you call a bottle-movie because it takes place mostly in one location. I'll admit I never liked it that much despite being a huge de Funes fan myself. The story seemed to restricted and it wasn't even that funny. After watching it now I have a very different view about it. It is a great satire on the sensationalism of media coverage and the gaffers who always come in masses whenever something bad seems to happen. If you now take into account that this movie is from 1971, a very much different time from today, in retrospect it was a bleak look into the future.
