The Blues are back.
Finally released from prison, Elwood Blues is once again enlisted by Sister Mary Stigmata in her latest crusade to raise funds for a children's hospital. Hitting the road to re-unite the band and win the big prize at the New Orleans Battle of the Bands, Elwood is pursued cross-country by the cops.

On unnecessary second movie. It is still OK but far from the greatness of the initial Blues Brothers movie.
Dan Aykroyd and John Landis get the band back together for the reunion film _Blues Brothers 2000_. Less of a sequel and more of a remake, the story is beat for beat the same as the original; which shows a complete lack of originality and creativity, making the film utterly pointless. But beyond that, the tone is inconsistent and is full of cartoonishness and fantasy themes that don’t work. A spectacular mess, _Blues Brothers 2000_ has no idea what it’s doing.
Boy this movie is so so so so terrible. Just the worst. And I can't believe it was directed by John Landis. Everything is so flat, lazy and stilted I just assumed Dan Akyroyd directed it. Awful.
