I didn't like this movie much when it starred three of the greatest actors of all time in The Philadelphia Story. And here, Crosby, Kelly, and Sinatra just can't handle the material. Crosby isn't suave enough, Sinatra isn't lovable enough, and Kelly...I love Grace Kelly but she just isn't spirited enough. The whole thing drags, which was a bummer, and that doesn't even count the tacked-on musical numbers. The best parts were Celeste Holm, whom I always love, and a cameo by Louis Armstrong.
While it doesn't follow the orginal plot exactly this is actually a remake of the Philadelphia Story that originally starred Cary Grant and Jimmy Stewart. While its hard to compare a remake to the original, if you just takes this as another musical it's well done. Crosby and Sinatra are great together and its a lot of fun to watch.
