Strange Horror film based on a Junju Ito manga. It's interesting because it's so weird...more weird than scary. There are some very odd sequences of people in the town succumbing to the influence of the curse of the spirals. It's never clear why this happens, but it makes for a head-shaking experience.

absolutely terrible, barely a movie at all

I have never wondered if a movie can be surreal in a comedic way and also surreal in a subtly creepy way and ALSO ALSO surreal in overtly terrifying way... but now I know the answer is emphatically yes. It's almost like all the borderline-goofy stuff in the movie starts to lull you into a false sense of security, so that you're disarmed when the freaky scary stuff happens, which makes it even freakier and scarier. Definitely a really weird movie I'm not going to forget any time soon.

The atmosphere was good, but it was not really scary. Felt more like a comedy mostly

The vibes of this movie is just so early 2000s. There are some really cool shots mixed with some really goofy editing. Honestly the ending credits were so sick, just wished the rest of the movie was like that and not so boring.
