You'll root for them all...but you'll never guess who wins.
A cross-country road race is based on an actual event, the Cannonball Baker Sea to Shining Sea Memorial Trophy Dash, organized by Brock Yates to protest the 55 mph speed limit then in effect in the U.S. The Cannonball was named for Erwin G. "Cannonball" Baker, who in the roaring 20's rode his motorcycle across the country. Many of the characters are based on ruses developed by real Cannonball racers over the several years that the event was run.

I can't help it... Even though I know this movie probably isn't all that for most people, I love it. The cars, the sounds, the comedy...love them!!! It all might be nostalgia from my childhood, but who cares. I love The Cannonball Run!!!
Sweeet flick..I remember loving it as a kid..how you not have fun watching this? You even get to see a young Jackie Chan layeth thee smacketh down haha
A car race as the backdrop for a real rampage.
There is nothing PC about this movie. It sums up baby boomer attitudes pretty spot on.
A classic road movie comedy with star power. A must-see for movie lovers
