Synopsis
In this small village in Extremadura, population has been declining since the 1960s, driven away by unemployment. Alberto Martín Menacho returns to this region he knows intimately, and together with local youths, spins stories in a reality suspended between tradition and modernity, human and animal, between a thousand-year-old oak tree and Tinder. A strikingly graceful debut film.

[VdR '23] The story is based on the rural life of the director's grandparents in a small town in Extremadura with just over 1,600 inhabitants. With a choral approach, shows the life of several members of a family in an environment of traditions that coexist with the concerns of young people, some with the desire to continue the work of their parents, and others with dreams of finding a better life, far from this small redoubt of traditions that have even ended up being prohibited, such as the use of greyhounds to hunt hares. However, it lacks focus, accumulating ideas that don't have an adequate development.
