This movie was amazingly perfect from the beginning to the end. It is my favorite romantic comedy of all time and probably my favorite movie of all time.
First saw this movie when I was 17 and to this day stays one of my favourite romantic comedies
I have a funny history with this one. I was in my first year of uni in my halls (dorms) watching the trailer to this when it was first out. I was laughing out loud, my door was open. This convinced a hall mate to think I was watching porn & laughing manically. This became a theme for me & the story spread - I was the guy that watched porn laughing like a mad man. The funny/odd thing is I completely forgot to watch the movie. On a recent re-watch of 24 I was reminded of Elisa Cuthbert, my 24 crush in 2001! So in 2025, as a 40 year old man - 21 years after watching that trailer I finally watched it. I was really pleasently surprised, it was a sweet movie. The vibe reminded me of Can't Hardly Wait which I adore. I did see some other comments from even 10 years ago that said re-vising it is a little troubling. In todays lens that may be so. But the limo scene was indeed like a scene from one of Danielle's movies but that's actually the point. Far from it being something she'd not want to repeat it was precisely how she reclaimed joyful, loving, truly intimate sex. Anyway i'm miserable with influenza, the only time I seem to watch movies as a 40 year old is when I'm forced to slow down cause I'm sick. This was a nice nostalgic look back & made me feel so much better. Easily an 8/10. Had I watched it at the time i think I'd have really liked it even more as a young man
One of the greatest romantic comedies. Extra point for the extremely gorgeous actress. :P
