From blunts to runts.
Jaycen 'Two Js' Jennings is a washed-up former pro football star who has hit rock bottom. When sentenced to community service coaching the Underdoggs, an unruly pee-wee football team in his hometown, he sees it mostly as an opportunity to rebuild his public image. But in the process, he may just turn his life around and rediscover his love of the game.

Pretty much just a clone of campeones 2018 and champions 2023, it just swap basketball for football. Like literally hit all the same plot points and character arcs beat for beat. The main characters a screw up, motley crew team comes together, underdogs win over town, blah blah. The only thing that would have salvaged it was if someone clocked that tre kid. Dude was insufferable sns. Overall coulda been way better if they did their own thing with the premise instead of remaking the remakes so obviously
Pay attention to the disclaimer at the beginning. LOL. But that being said, the movie addresses some of the negative stereotypes used to keep a lot of poor kids down, especially minority kids. From the anglo-saxon protestant holier than thou hypocrisy to the fact they often grow up with colorful language (disclaimer) and get stereotyped for being tougher and "angrier". It really shows how kids are still kids and how they need to have people who genuinely care and that are there for them. The cast is terrific. The script is adorable. And the heartfelt moments really do pull the heart strings, but that may be from the reality it's based on. Snoop Dogg according to the end of the movie has been running a pee wee football league that helps underprivileged kids play football since 2005, and the movie is based on the kids they have helped. Sometimes truth is better than fiction. plus the movie had me laughing so much it deserves at least a 9. Couldn't give it a 10, but that's only because a certain propaganda company managed to rub its way in, even if it sort of got called on its inflammatory rhetoric. 9 out of 10.
Like the movie "The Wash" but for the "newer generation of adults" is how i see it.
