lotta fun with tons of authentic heart
I wanted to like this so much. It's just that I don't really see the point. It's occasionally funny/sad but most of the time it's just... nothing. The timing feels weird; scenes just end out of nowhere (also, I swear I don't understand what the point of that last segment is before each episode ends). The lighting feels weird, and breaks the 'natural' vibe that the dialogue seems to be trying to create. There are several creative choices made here that I truly don't understand. Josh Thomas is amazing, as always. The show deals with serious themes with a touch of humour, like Please Like Me did. The girls that play Matilda and Genevieve are brilliant too, and this truly has a lot of potential. Sadly, I feel like what the creators had in mind did not play out well on screen. Maybe next season.
Hope not one actor ever gets a new role in a series
Insects and teenagers, the things did not grow up for Josh, I feel moving backwards. Music and episodic food was better, I hate insects.
What can I say about this show? It is very much Josh Thomas. Very very very much him. I found it a bit too much over the top at times, which is sad because I thought I would like it more.
