Not the funniest sitcom ever written (though it does have a steady laugh count throughout) but undeniably one of the most charming. A gentle comedy with a continuous storyline that traces through its entire run, it's a great ensemble but Judi Dench and Geoffrey Palmer are utterly superb as belatedly reunited, star-crossed lovers Jean and Lionel. A terrific feel-good comedy.
