Die Kommissarin Lisa Armstrong (Morven Christie) ist alleinerziehende Mutter von zwei Kindern und arbeitet beim West Lancashire Police Departement. Sie ist zuständig für Gewalt und Verbrechen innerhalb von Familien. Als zwei Kinder spurlos verschwinden, wird sie auf den Fall angesetzt. Als Armstrong den Stiefvater der Vermissten kennenlernen soll, traut sie ihren Augen nicht. Sie hatte mit Sean (Jonas Armstrong) im Hof einer Kneipe einen One Night Stand. Es dauert nicht lange, bis die Polizisten merkt, dass die Kinder in genau dieser Nacht, in der sie mit Sean Sex hatte, verschwanden. Es ist also sicher, dass der Stiefvater mit dem Verschwinden nichts zu tun hat. Ein Alibi will sie ihm trotzdem nicht verschaffen, denn dann müsste sie sich von den Ermittlungen fernhalten...

Series 3 is awful, the main detective character has been 'swopped' and i turned it off as the whole thing was just rubbish.
(After viewing the first season/series). It’s not a top UK crime drama, but, then again, the UK sets the gold standard for Crime Dramas (or do they call them Police Procedurals). The lead actress seems to have one setting for all the different dramas in her life which limits the credibility of her character. The location is magnificent. The script doesn’t leave enough breadcrumbs to allow the viewer to solve the crime before or along with the police so it remains a mystery until the writers decide to declare the criminal. I’m still going to give the first season a 7 (ok) out of 10 and hope for better in the second season. [Crime Drama]
My mum made me watch this but it was quite good tbf
First 2 seasons aren't too bad, but then it goes woke and dials it up with each season. It's basically a soap opera disguised as a cop show. Didn't even bother watching season 5
