> My husband Oh Jak Doo started very very strongly. There was a solid mystery, about the man who was threatening the girl, a nice romance and an old family secret. The main couple had chemistry. The story was working really well. And then, it just got tiring. PLOT ------ For the first half of this drama at least, it tells a good story about the struggles of a successful career woman who defies society by refusing to marry but ends up pursuing a contract relationship anyway. I binge watched the first 8 episodes and I was totally hooked because I liked the funny, light-hearted story of Seung Joo and her fake husband, Oh Jak Doo. I also enjoyed the side stories/sub plots within the the big plot of the 3 grandmas, serial killer, Seung Joo's friends and annoying boss (Eric Cho Bong Sik) and her coworkers. However it ended up being kind of being a story with too many cooks and it just became a drama for me that I could watch while working or distracted by something else. The mystery was solved quickly, the romance was developed and the old family secret got a bit twisted and boring. Though a bit slow paced the story is relevant in todays time as we can see around us where even within families there is so much insensitivity and lack of love / caring for each other. The need for being ourselves in times when the media tries to make every story into a saleable product while compromising on truth is the message of the drama. CAST ------ The characters in this show are kind of over the top ones- they scream, are dramatic and usually leave you with a laugh due to the dumb situations each character is put in. As for acting- Uee has improved alot (I've seen her first in Marriage Contract-her crying scenes weren't the best for her there), but I believe she has a long way to go. I would love to see her in a much more darker role. Kim Kang Woo is great here-his dialect is perfect and I would love to see him again in another show! Other characters on this show are kind of annoying but they act all great- according to their parts. I would say Han Sunhwa is given great outfits but she doesn't have much to work with. Jung Sang Hoon is great as I mentioned earlier in my review, his English has to be one of the highlighted/annoying moments of this show ;) ; although i hated his fake accent in the beginning it grew on me and was funny how he is so sensitive to how people view him. Not going to lie, I absolutely abhorred Seung Joo's mother and there were times when I disliked Jang Eun Joo as well as. The brother and his girlfriend were annoying as well, but I didn't hate them too much. I loved the friendship between Han Seung Joo and her friends... how they kept each other together and didn't let their husbands in between, and how they supported each other; it was really fun to watch. Except for Eric and the Main leads there is no character development for any of the CAST which is what made the 24 episodes boring. VERDICT ----------- At first it was good, i was having fun while watching it cause there's so many funny scenes and meaningful situations but then the story or plot just became too dragging. It's like it was forced to have 24 episodes. I think if it was 16 episodes only or less, it could have been better. Though i must commend the acting of the female lead she's too good as well as the lead male but it was just too long and it started to bore me. If given a chance to watch it again, i wouldn't. The acting were great but the plot was too boring. Didn't have anything more to.show. I just wished they thought of a great twist or whatever if they want it to.be that long This show is surprisingly sweet and gave me the feelings which are real deep. If you are expecting for a romantic show with more skinship and fast pace this isn't for you.
