this show is underrated. everyone should watch it!
This show is a strange one for me. It shares themes and plot points of several shows I love, but I feel it is not as successful as the others (Snowfall, Euphoria, Degrassi, etc). Did I enjoy it? Yes. Would I recommend it? Probably not. I think if you like other "adult focused teenage drama shows" I could mention it in that conversation and then recommend. With that being said, I am sure some people will watch it and love it. I would imagine that in most of those cases this would be a show where the audience is just beginning to dabble in the genre. Anyways, worth skipping unless there is particular interest. Average Season Review: 7/10 Recommendation: Skip (For Adult Themed Teen Drama Fans)
What started as a cute show ended up ripping my heart out by the end of the season. I did not expect to like this show so much!
At the heart of the story of On My Block is a group of Los Angeles teenagers consisting of Monse (Sierra Capri), Cesar (Diego Tinoco), Ruby (Jason Genao), Olivia (Ronni Hawk), Jasmine (Jessica Marie Garcia) and Jamal (Brett Gray). Together they conquer the neighborhood and enjoy boredom in the sun, but are also confronted with the social problems of their neighborhood. "On My Block" really surprised me because I'm usually not a fan of teen dramas. But "On My Block" actually manages to create strong characters that work well together and tell a story that often makes you laugh, but also has sad moments.
ugh, really dislike this one - extremely cringy at times, but still a fun storyline
