It was one of those anime(s) which is a 'Slice of Life' on first look but has a dark back story. This show is very underrated and I am glad I ignored the reviews and watched it. Although the story has many loopholes it was still beautiful. I'd have to read the light novels to get a better understanding of the story, since the anime was not a faithful adaptation. I'll recommend everyone to watch it, it'll be worth your time.

This anime with its endlessly long title had been on my watchlist for a long time. And honestly, what a hidden gem. I’m really glad I finally watched it, even if I walked away feeling a bit frustrated. I won’t go into the story itself, because that would mean spoilers, and I truly believe this kind of anime is best experienced without knowing too much in advance. What I can say, though, is that it isn’t nearly as dark as some things I’ve read online or in other reviews. At its core, it’s a tragic love story set in a world where no humans remain, except for the main character. The romance between the two main characters feels genuinely sincere and deeply moving. The supporting characters are also well written, although I do think some of them could have been explored in greater depth. I really loved both the beginning and the ending, but I’m left feeling frustrated because the series raises more questions than it answers. That’s why it feels like a second season should have existed to address those loose ends. Given how old the anime is, that seems unlikely, though not entirely impossible. So yes, this anime is truly beautiful and emotionally impactful. The ending is generally satisfying, but in my opinion, it still feels unfinished. I would nonetheless recommend it to anyone who enjoys anime like Clannad, The Familiar of Zero, or Shakugan no Shana. It’s absolutely worth watching!
This show is very underrated and deserves more attention. This show explains a brand new story, setting, and plot to us. However there are some generic aspects to it such as a mildly forced relationship but I can see how they end up together. The beginning is a very kind opening to any viewer and gives us the names of the characters and setting. P/s: this adaptation from light novel is not good, they cut many things from light novel but still acceptable!
This show left me in shambles, the ending was so devastatingly emotional, and honestly, the minute that red hair started to appear on Chtholly, I knew I was in for a massive heartbreak. I fell absolutely in love with the unique concept of this world and I loved Willem’s maturity, how he carries his quiet sorrow with so much depth. Also, can we talk about the music? Not only the OP/ED are beautiful, but the entire soundtrack elevated the tragic atmosphere to another level hearing Scarborough Fair and Call You gave me literal chills every single time it came on. I desperately wish the show was longer because it left so many fascinating questions unanswered, and finding out there's no Season 2 makes me want to throw myself from a window. I'm just not ready to let go yet... I need more!
