The second half of the show kinda drags a bit - the way Korean shows add scenes that don't add much to the story, and you can tell the scriptwriter changed things to accommodate the TV ratings - but the first half of the story, and some of the side story lines (e.g. Lee Jaekyung conspiracy, and the detectives) make the show worth finishing to the end.

I found it hard to like Song Yi for the first couple of episodes. She was so rude and entitled, it was difficult to root for her, but thankfully her awful behavior lessened as the show went on. The leads had amazing chemistry and were great. Their interactions were believable and the emotional scenes felt real. I didn't cry at any point, but this has to be one of the top 5 dramas I've seen, that isn't inherently sad, where characters cry at least once each episode. And very convincingly, mind you. The supporting characters were also very good. I particularly loved Hwi Kyeong, with his steadfast, unwavering love for Song Yi (he was so sweet, I wouldn't have been mad if the show had ended with a trouple forming LOL), the friend with the comic book store who continually fell in love with every good looking guy she saw and also Song Yi's bratty little brother. Honestly, for a 21 episode show, it didn't feel *that* long. It did drag a bit at certain times, but there were surprisingly few "flash-back" scenes, and lots of interesting, interconnecting plots that kept things fresh and moving along nicely. The OST was a bit cheesy, but maybe that has to do with when this drama came out? IDK. All in all, story-wise, nothing too mind blowing, but with very strong performances all around that make it worth watching.

There are four versions of this: 2014 Korean, 2017 Filipino, 2019 Thai and 2022 Japanese. I’m reviewing the original 2014 Korean version (which, based on the remakes alone, was very popular). Besides being a SciFi drama, it reflects the cult of celebrity and its impact on the person behind the persona. Oh, and there is a ruthless killer. And, oh, there is a 404+ old alien waiting on earth to go home. The premise is SciFi and sets up the drama which held my attention for 9 episodes but the comedy became so ridiculous that it spoiled the pace for me and the focus on nothing but unrequited love spoiled the chemistry for the next 5 episodes. I definitely had issues with the pace, and the lack of consistently quality writing but there were episodes that were undeniably 8s. Overall, the acting was spot on, the characters interesting and the premise fun. I give the series a high 7 (enjoyable) out of 10.

Either Do Min-Joon is either badly written or badly acted ; its quite a mystery Song-Yi (My Sassy Girl) is the life of this show ; she get more funny midway of the series
when we less of her arrogance after humbling circumstances
Jae-Kyung is a bold villain acted well. This is a good show but should have been compressed into 10 episodes ; definitely dragged out for ratings( like most K-Dramas)
