Japan, späte Edo-Zeit. Die Erde wurde von einer außerirdischen Rasse namens Amantoannektiert, die technisch der Menschheit des 21. Jhds. weit voraus ist. Als Maßnahme zur Friedenssicherung wurden Japans Samurai entwaffnet. Einer von ihnen, Sakata Gintoki, schlägt sich nun als Gelegenheitsarbeiter durch und trifft dabei auf allerlei buntes Volk.

Absolutely great, it starts slow and quickly becomes a fun comedy that always produces a laugh in original ways, while the more serious arcs make the show a intense drama filled with action, and the show is capable of being everything in between
Gintama is getting a new anime series premiering in April 2015. Based Santa-san has delivered once again and in thrilling fashion nonetheless. Best anime ever (Comedy, Action, Drama, Adventure, Crime, Sport, Fantasy, Thriller, History, Science fiction and everything else..) I re re-watched this anime so many times and it keeps getting better ( Only thing I regret is me not being Japanese, cause I can't get the Japanese cultural references)
